Severe storm Ulysses inundates Pasig-Marikina basin


PAGASA expects more flash flooding in several towns and cities located along the Marikina River. At one in the afternoon, the center of the eye of Typhoon Ulysses was spotted 125 kilometers Northwest of Virac Catanduanes or 95 kilometers Northeast of Daet Camarines Norte.

Flash floods as high as 300 millimeters are expected to inundate portions of the following:
Upper Marikina River – Rodriguez, Antipolo, San Mateo, Quezon City , Marikina, Pasig; Lower Marikina River – Pasig, Mandaluyong; Pasig River – Pasig, Makati, Mandaluyong and Manila; Tullahan River – Quezon City, Caloocan Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela and tributaries such as Mango River – Rodriguez, Nangka River – Marikina, San Mateo, Antipolo, and San Juan River – Quezon City, San Juan, and Manila

Pages warns people living near mountain slopes and low-lying areas of these towns and cities to be on alert and prepare for possible evacuation.
