Marikina roads impassable due to flash floods

For those wanting to go to Marikina City, be very careful. Radio reports show that most portions of Sumulong highway and all the rest of the roads of the city are under several inches high floods.

At Sumulong highway, particularly at the portion of Santo Nino, waist deep to breast high floods. There is a high possibility of motorists being trapped as flood levels continue to rise.

Marikina mayor Marcy Teodoro says that flood waters had breached the 21.5 levels. This explains why the entire city has been under floods since early morning today.

Residents had asked for rescue operations particularly residents of a subdivision that also came under flooding during the Ondoy onslaught. Some residents pointed that this is the first time that floods even reached the second floor of their houses.
