MANILA, Philippines — Atty. Barry Gutierrez, spokesperson of the Office of the Vice President, said that Vice President Leni Robredo could make a big difference as co-chairman of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-illegal Drugs (ICAD) and the government’s anti-drug czar.
At a news conference in Manila Bay, Gutierrez said that the Vice President aims to change the public’s view of the government’s operation against anti-illegal drugs in which many were killed.
Gutierrez said that VP Leni wants people to think that eradicating illegal drugs are for the betterment of the people.
Gutierrez also insists that the vice president is targeting suppliers and drug lords to stop the spread of illegal drugs in the country
During the press conference, Gutierrez said VP Leni already submitted an initial report to the office of President Rodrigo Duterte while waiting for an invitation to cabinet meetings.
He also added that the Vice President already received threats and criticisms after she accepted the czar role, but it will never be a hindrance for the VP to stop in her new job. (BENJIE CUARESMA/LT/IAMIGO/CNS)
