MANILA, Philippines — House of Representatives lawmakers are mourning the passing of LPGMA Party-list Representative Rodolfo Albano Jr. who died due to heart failure on Tuesday evening (05 November 2019).

House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez said in a statement on Wednesday (06 November 2019) the death of Albano is a “great loss” for Congress and all the people who know him.

Romualdez said, “Manong Rudy Albano, our former House Majority Leader is a man of integrity, compassion, strength and exemplary deeds,”

“I offer our great respect and gratitude for Manong Rudy’s unwavering dedication and sincere service to our nation until the very end,” he also added.

Romualdez also offered the Albano family his sympathies and prayers.

Deputy Speaker Michael Romero, president of the 54-member Party-list group, also expressed his grief over Albano’s passing on behalf of the group members.

Our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and to the LPGMA Party-list. Rep. Albano was one of our most senior members and one of the longest-serving legislators we all respect so much,” he said.

“We, the whole family of the Partylist Coalition bloc, will miss his energy and cheerful disposition as a colleague on the advancement of the causes of the poor and marginalized sectors of our country,” he added.

His father will be interred at Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City starting Wednesday, according to Isabela Governor Rodito Albano III. The House of Representatives will also have a memorial service on Thursday.

The remains of Albano will then travel back to Isabela for his final place of rest in Cabagan town. (Marian Andrei Sinamban/IAMIGO/CNS)
