MANILA, Philippines – Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand was silenced by Sibol athletes, the Philippines’ Southeast Asian Games representatives in esports, on a PHISGOC test event on Monday, 04 November 2019, held at the FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan.
Sibol athletes bagged all the gold medals in the official eSports Test Event for the 30th SEA Games.
According to a post by the official 2019 SEA Games Facebook page, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are fielding teams in Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Tekken 7.
Andreij “Doujin” Albar notched the first gold medal for the Sibol athletes in the test event after outlasting Indonesia’s MEAT in the final round.
The country’s Dota team defeated the Malaysian team, with a 2-0 sweep in the finals for the 2nd gold.
On the other hand, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team stunned the crowd favorites Indonesian Team with a sweep to claim the third gold medal for the Philippines in the test event.
Nine countries are set to compete for six titles from different team and individual events at the SEA Games eSports competition.
