PBBM in India, boost Stronger Alliance
The Philippines and India agreed to a stronger alliance, after the bilateral meeting of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5 at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
The two world leaders discussed trade agreements, defense and security, digital technologies, maritime cooperation, science and technology, tourism, arts and culture, and space cooperation among others.
The Philippines is Asia’s oldest Constitutional Republic, while India is the largest democracy in term of population. Both nation calls for the rule of law and democratic institutions to be followed.
As tensions grew in the Indo-Pacific Region, the defense cooperation between the two countries is strategic, as both are facing an aggressive China with its illegal claims on the West Philippine Sea, and its border clashes in India.
