Manila Mayor Isko Moreno calls out DPWH

Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Monday, called out the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for its proposed rehabilitation of Dimasalang Bridge, however the project did not secure any clearances nor coordinated with the city government, which irates the popular mayor.

Moreno warned that the LGU will confiscate and impound any equipment and vehicles.

“I will not hesitate to impound your vehicle or equipment if we catch it lying idle on the road… it could even cause an accident”. Said Moreno.

Domagoso issued a cease and desist order halting the DPWH North Manila District Engineering Office project which was to conduct a full deck replacement and improvements on the bridge. The Northbound lanes was set to be turned into a two-way traffic for the duration of the project, while the Southbound lanes will be closed.

“Bumusina naman kayo kung meron kayong kalsada, lubak-lubak o canal na bubungkalin”.

Domagoso stressed that a proper communication between the agency and the LGU is needed for such projects.
