Drug suspect in Pasig City arrested

A male drug suspect was arrested in Pasig City during a buy-bust operation early morning Tuesday, yielding 112,000 worth of suspected shabu.

According to Pasig City Police Chief Col. Celerino Sacro Jr., the 31-year-old suspect was arrested at around 3.35 am.

He was identified as a.k.a. “Emak”, aresident of Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City. He will be charged for violating Sections 5 and 11 Art. II of R.A. No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Investigation showed that after a series of surveillance and coordination, operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit conducted buy-bust operation along Jenny’s Avenue, Brgy. Rosario, Pasig City against the suspect, who yielded three pieces heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing undetermined quantity of white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu with a total estimated weight of more or less 16.5 grams.

It had an estimated drug price of P112,200. Police also recovered the buy-bust money consisting of two pieces genuine one-hundred-peso bill and eight pieces fake one-thousand-peso bill.

The suspect was informed of the nature of his arrest and was apprised of his constitutional rights in a dialect known to him.

Thereafter, the arrested suspect and confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to this office for filing of appropriate charges and subsequently referred to EPD Forensic Unit located at Brgy. Mauway, Mandaluyong City for drug test and laboratory examination.

“I highly commend the excellent job, dedication, and efforts of the Station Drug Enforcement Operatives for another milestone in our war against illegal drugs within our area of responsibility. I also urge the general public to be vigilant and be our active partners in the fight against all forms of lawlessness and criminality in the City,” Sacro said.
