The reward money for the arrest of the killers of San Miguel Bulacan chief of Police, Lieutenant Colonel Marlon Serna who was shot in the head by unidentified gunmen during an operation conducted in San Ildefonso, Bulacan on Saturday night, has increased to P1.2 million.
The said money came from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Bulacan local government.
According to Police Regional Office 3 Director Police Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr. the P300,000 came from their office, while P500,000 from the DILG, and P200,000 from PNP.
Meanwhile, Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando offered a P200,000 reward.
It will be recalled that two suspects who were onboard a motorcycle fired shots and hit Serna during their operation. Injured was a 17-year-old male.
Reports said that the San Miguel Police were conducting a follow-up operation and investigation at that time when they received a report about a robbery incident in Barangay San Juan.
Hot pursuit operations are ongoing against the suspects who are still at large.
