The support for the presidential bid of Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is growing, with at least 23 local officials expressing their support.

Also, a group of young lawyers is also backing the Manila Mayor’s presidential bid in 2022.

The following local officials were among those who have expressed their support for Domagoso’s 2022 presidential bid: Marinduque Vice Gov. Romulo Bacorro Jr.; Romblon Vice Governor Felix Ylagan; Quezon Vice Gov. Sam Nante and Betty Nantes; Marinduque Provincial Board members John Pelaez and Gilbert Daquioag; Laguna Provincial Board members Rai Ann San Luis Magtanggol and Jose Carait; Zambales board member Keith Doble; Santa Maria (Laguna) Mayor Ma. Rocelle Carolino; Santa Cruz (Laguna) Mayor Edgar San Luis; Concepcion (Tarlac) Vice Mayor Joey Baluyut; Nagcarlan (Laguna) Vice Mayor Rexlon Arevalo; Magdalena (Laguna) Vice Mayor Pedro Bucal; Pakil (Laguna) Vice Mayor Charles Vipops Martinez; Mabitac (Laguna) Vice Mayor Angelito Valderrama Sr.; Majayjay (Laguna) Vice Mayor Juan Ariel Argañosa Jr.; San Jose (Batangas) Vice Mayor Noel Virtusio; Calamba City Vice Mayor Ross Rizal; Oas (Albay) Vice Mayor Reene Riofrio Raro; Angat (Bulacan) Vice Mayor Reynante Bautista; and Malabon City Councilors Jasper Kevin Cruz and John Anthony Parial Garcia.

Meanwhile, the Isko Lawyers and Law Students for Reform (Iskolars) has launched a campaign to support Domagoso’s 2022 presidential bid, stating he “has been heavily favored by the youth and millennials alike.”

“Mayor Moreno represents the Filipino’s desire for reform in governance, a reboot of what Philippine government should ideally be. He has the executive experience absent among his counterparts, and the moral standing to be a voice for the poor and the disenfranchised. No candidate comes close,” said Atty. Aristotle Valera, Iskolar lead convenor, said.

Domagoso will be running under the Aksyon Demokratiko party with health advocate Dr. Willie Ong as his running mate.
