WASHINGTON (From the Web) — The United States will start to formally call drug cartels in Mexico as “terrorist groups”.
“They will be designated… I have been working on that for the last 90 days. You know, the designation is not that easy, you have to go through a process, and we are well into that process,” US President Donald Trump said.
Trump also told Mexico that Washington as ready to dismantle the cartels.
In response, Mexico’s foreign minister has claimed that their country will not tolerate any violation of their sovereignty.
Earlier, Trump promised to launch a war against drug cartels following attacks on US citizens in Mexico.
