Robredo is ‘merece’ to be removed as co-chair of ICAD — Panelo

Manila, Philippines — Malacañang asserted that Vice President Leni Robredo “is worthy to be removed as co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD).”

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said that he was no longer surprised at Robredo’s statement after getting sacked from her position as co-chair of ICAD.

“Her tirades and threats following her unceremonious and well-deserved firing is unsurprising. There is no greater fury than a woman scorned. There is a Spanish word that aptly describes her fall from grace: Merece (deserving),” Panelo said.

“In an environment when the limitations given to you are just too much, ang pinakamadali kasi ay to pass the blame on others. Kung sasabihin mo na hindi ko nagawa ‘trabaho ko dahil uninspired ako sa aking boss; na hindi ako nag-perform dahil hindi ako well-motivated ng aking boss…kapag ganoon ang mga dahilan, hindi tayo tunay na lider,” Robredo said.

But according to Panelo, President Rodrigo Duterte already helped Robredo to prove herself.

“In the tunnel of darkness where she strayed aimlessly after a 100 percent rejection of her endorsed Otcho Derecho, she was given a lamp by PRRD to illuminate her way, but she carelessly broke it and she is back to where she was, groping with a blind vision,” said Panelo.

Panelo said that despite Robredo’s sacking by the president, the people’s confidence in surveys on him remains.

He also added that even VP Robredo continuous to ridicule the President, the public trust will still remain.

“Despite her non-performance and obstructionist perorations against the President, the latter has performed exceedingly well, and the Filipino people have stamped with a very good satisfaction rating on his incomparable performance in the last three years. In contrast, the rambunctious critic has consistently rated very low in the surveys. Res ipsa loquitor (The thing speaks for itself),” said Panelo. (Marian Sinamban/IAMIGO/CNS)
