Tulfo’s apology is ‘trash’ — ACT-Teachers

on

MANILA, Philippines — ACT-Teachers Party-List Rep. France Castro described Raffy Tulfo’s apology as “basura” (trash) over an episode involving a school teacher whom the radio recommended for dismissal over his high-rating public affairs program online and at ABC5.

According to Castro, it would be a waste if Tulfo’s public apology could be considered as he greatly embarrassed the teacher not only nationwide but worldwide on his radio program which is also shown online through FB, Twitter and YouTube and other multi-media platforms.

“Is he sorry Ma’am Melita? I heard nothing. All he wants is his netizens. The first thing he should have done was to say sorry to the teacher and to his netizens for his attitude on the case, ”Castro said.

Last week, Tulfo accordingly humiliated on air Melita Limjuco, who is a teacher at Epifanio Delos Santos Elementary School after one of her student’s grandmother complained and narrated the incident at the popular “Raffy Tulfo in Action” radio program.

Limjuco allegedly put her Grade 2 pupil in an extremely embarrassing situation when she ordered the boy to sit outside the classroom after failing to bring his report card and instigating a fight.

Tulfo then suggested in his program to revoke the license of the teacher when the latter was only instilling discipline to her pupil.

Tulfo apologized a few days later when the said YouTube episode harvested a total of 300,000 dislikes aside from hundreds of negative comments.

“It was really unbecoming for a media practitioner like Raffy Tulfo to do that. He should have referred the matter to DepEd if he lacked knowledge on the procedure and rule of law,” Castro said.

Castro further emphasized that Tulfo should not act as a law enforcement entity in the country through his radio program. (Chris Figueroa/IAMIGO/CNS)
