MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Thursday a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Cotabato province.
Philvolcs said at around 6:31 a.m. the tectonic tremor occurred, about 1.3 kilometers north-east of Tulunan town, with a depth of 1.0 kilometers.
Intensity 4 was reported in Kidapawan City, which could generate “moderately strong” shaking.
Phivolcs said there was no damage reported or aftershocks from the quake.
In October, Mindanao was hit by a series of strong tremors, leaving dozens killed, hundreds injured and buildings collapsed and damaged. (Marian Sinamban/IAMIGO/CNS)
