MANILA, Philippines – Allen Durham powered the Meralco Bolts to a 101-77 blowout win over Barangay Ginebra in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup on Sunday, 03 November 2019, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The gritty Durham finished with a triple-double with 39 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists as the Bolts gained their third quarterfinals berth with a 6-2 win-loss record.

The win also crushed Ginebra’s four-game winning streak.

Rookie Bong Quinto had 13 points and five rebounds in their win, Chris Newsome delivered 11 points and nine rebounds while Raymond Almazan posted 10 points and nine rebounds in a fitting sequel to their 127-99 demolition of the San Miguel Beermen last Oct. 27.

Ginebras’ Justin Brownlee was limited to just 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists after racking up 4-triple doubles in their first seven games.

LA Tenorio was the only other double-digit scorer for Ginebra with 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting.

Barangay Ginebra, after its loss to Meralco, dropped into a 5-3 slate tied with San Miguel at 4th place. (Lloyd Tagbago/IAMIGO/CNS)
