Back-to-back titles for Didal

MANILA, Philippines — Asian Games gold medallist Margielyn Arda Didal on Sunday pocketed back-to-back titles in campaigning in The Netherlands and California in a show of her preparedness in the coming 30th Southeast Asian Games the country is hosting this year and of her chances to make it to the qualifying tournament for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Didal showed her perseverance and bag full of tricks that gave her the gold medal in the 18th Jakarta Asian Games as she bested the best skateboarder in the two by invitation only tournaments in winning for two consecutive years the title of the 2019Exposure All Women’s Skateboarding Championships.

Earlier, Didal surprised the best women Park skater in the world for her first trophy when she ruled the first-ever edition of the famous Ladies Day Skate competition at The Berrics na ginanap inThe Netherlands.

Didal completed a double as she defended her crown in the 2019Exposure All Women’s Skateboarding Championships held in Huntington Beach, California, USA.

The Ladies Day Skate competition at The Berrics was the distaff side of the world popular skateboarding hub and was joined only by popular skaters.

Skateboarding and Roller Sports Association of the Philippine President Monty Mendigoria said the two victories against a strong field of world-caliber skateboarders boosted the morale of Didal for her upcoming campaign in the Olympic ranking competition set on November 10 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil.

The wins will also serve as inspiration for Didal’s campaign in the SEA Games in Tagaytay. (LOredo/IAMIGO/CNS)
