Over 500 police officers have been deployed for safety and security of visitors at the Manila North Cemetery on Thursday, acting National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas said.
“Ang naka-deploy dito ay 250 at one time. Ang total na full blast dito is 540, ngayon kasi umaga pa lang,” Sinas told reporters.
“Just the same, meron din kaming dinedeploy na intel personnel natin na kasama sa crowd para at least magmanman kung ano man ang nandiyan,” he added.
According to Sinas that K-9 units have been deployed at Manila’s largest burial ground to augment the police’s security effort.
“Meron tayong K-9 units na nagiikot po dito para at least ma-secure na hindi tayo malusutan,” he said.
Sinas said that there is no security threats that have been reported or monitored, so far in Manila’s four major cemeteries.
“Wala pa naman kaming na-receive na threats from our intelligence unit pati sa ibang unit at ngayon na-deploy na namin lahat ng tao namin,” he said.
“Ang joint task force NCR ay nag-deploy din ng tao sa mga major cemeteries and convergence kaagapay namin sila sa pagse-secure ng area,” he added.
Sinas, along with the Manila Police District chief Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno visited and inspected preparations at the Manila North Cemetery Thursday morning.
