MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra overcame a gutsy last quarter comeback by Blackwater to prevail, 101-93, and extend its winning streak to four games on Wednesday, 2019 October 30, at the Cuneta Astrodome.
Justin Brownlee provided the needed muscle and scoring at the crunch and the Gins held off Blackwater’s comeback bid in the final frame.
He accounted for 10 points in there and helped the Gin Kings bolster their Top Four bid at 5-2, a win-loss slate that is similar to that of Meralco.
The Gin Kings top import actually posted his fourth triple-double of the season as he finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
LA Tenorio led the scoring for Ginebra finishing with 20 points as he became the seventh player in PBA history to make 1,000 career triples and seventh to have at least 800 steals.
Japeth Aguilar chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds, while Stanley Pringle had 16 points.
Mac Belo produced 19 points and Rookie Ray Parks Jr. had 14 points, five rebounds and five assists as Blackwater dropped to the bottom of the standings tied with Rain or Shine Elasto Painters behind a 2-7 record. (Lloyd Tagbago/IAMIGO/CNS)
