More than forty quakes struck Southern Mindanao since a 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit Cotabato and Davao del Sur which resulted to the deaths of four people.

This, after experts warn of a “big one” to hit Davao after the discovery of new fault lines which criss-cross the wide expanse of Davao peninsula.

Philvocs discovered the fault lines last 2015 and has since coordinated with local government units for disaster mitigation. Earlier this month, another earthquake struck which killed five.

The Philippine News Agency reported the death of a teenage boy after he was crushed by debris in Magsaysay town in Davao del Sur. Another man died when he was hit by concrete blocks from the church which was being reconstructed.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in a report said a father and his son from Arakan town in Cotabato also died in the quake.
