Reports reaching Currentph says that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is now recuperating from a bad fall due to a motorcycle mishap, Wednesday night.
Remarks from Senator Bong Go, the president’s closest and reputedly the most trusted aide, were quoted as saying that Duterte rode a motorbike while on his way out of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) compound at the Malacañang complex when the accident happened. Duterte just arrived at the palace after inaugurating a power plant in Taguig City.
The 74 year old Chief Executive fell off his 650 cc dirt bike when he tried to make a sharp turn that caused him to land hard on the concrete pavement, possibly fracturing his left elbow.
This is not the first time that Duterte had a motorbike accident. In various occasions, Duterte narrated how he suffered from a bad bike fall when he was still Davao mayor which he now say, causes those intermittent spinal pain.
Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo says the president is recovering inside Bahay ng Pagbabago ni Malacanan. Panelo says there is simply no need for medical procedure for the president after all. Though, Senator Go says, Duterte complained of hip pains which, are not entirely considered serious or severe by the palace.
“The Palace assures that there is nothing to worry about regarding the President’s condition following news that he figured in a motorcycle accident last night, October 16,” said Panelo.
