Just now, Senator Risa Hontiveros suspended for a minute the hearing being conducted on the POGO probe, as celebrated star resource person Alice Guo, aka Gua Hua Ping, refused to publicly identify the person or persons allegedly behind moves to eliminate her. Hontiveros refused to believe her for reasons that Ms. Guo had already lied before. If that is the case, Ms. Hontiveros, why call Alice again to the stand?
The Senate should stop these hearings since they are relying only on Ms. Guo in their probe. I am now starting to fear the outcome of this hearing as the Senate begins to train its sights on the former Bamban mayor and refuses to acknowledge any new facts about the POGO operations.
If they refuse to believe this witness, then it is highly pointless to continue the hearing. It seems like the Senate is now playing politics. For whom is it?
At Currentph, we freely asserted that what is happening now is a struggle between two (2) big Chinese syndicates involved in illegal activities. The syndicate group involved with the one operating on Alice Guo’s property in Bamban is in direct fight with another syndicate.
This “other syndicate” is the one whose head is allegedly very close to the “Powers that be.” The head is said to have influenced the government to go after their competitors in the Philippines. This explains what’s happening right now– this person has contributed largely to the electoral kitty of several politicians.
If I were the government, I would also go after this big man who is reportedly very close to this administration. Is this “big man” the one behind the things the ex-mayor of Bamban is experiencing right now?
Whether we believe Alice Guo or not, the fact of the matter is this– she is being made to be the poster girl of this entire issue, and for what? How many people sleep soundly because all the attention is now directed to Ms. Guo?
The real masterminds behind these illegal POGO operations are now laughing because we are now focused on one person and have trained our sights on her alone.
