NCRPO Takes Down Drug Duo in Parañaque; Over One Million Worth of Shabu Confiscated

IN  a sweeping crackdown on illegal drugs, the National Capital Region Police Office under the command of Regional Director, PMGEN JOSE MELENCIO C NARTATEZ, JR arrested two individuals involved in illegal drug activities, leading to the confiscation of approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu with an Standard Drug Price of Php1,020,000.00. The operation took place at Lim Compound, Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City, at around 11:40 AM on August 11, 2024.

The suspects identified as Marvin Bagon Bontia tagged as a High-Value Individual (HVI), 28 years old, resident of Barangay Upper Bicutan, Taguig City, and Eduard Alferero, 20 years old, resident of Barangay Daniel Fajardo, Las Piñas City, were apprehended by operatives from the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Parañaque City Police Station, Southern Police District.

During the operation, a poseur-buyer and five other officers successfully negotiated with the suspects, leading to their arrest after they sold a dangerous drug to the undercover agent. 

The recovered pieces of evidence include:

  • One (1) piece knot-tied transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and two (2) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an approximate weight of 149.6 grams (Possession)
  • One (1) piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, weighing approximately 0.4 grams (subject of sale).
  • One (1) piece of genuine Five-hundred-peso bill  (Buy-bust Money).
  • One (1) piece of genuine Five-hundred-peso bill (Recovered Money).
  • One (1) piece of black sling bag. 

The estimated weight of the confiscated illegal drugs is more or less 150 grams with a Standard Drug Price of Php1,020,000.00. The confiscated drug evidence was turned over to the Southern Police District Forensic Unit (SPDFU) for quantitative and qualitative analysis.  

The suspects are currently under police custody for proper disposition and pending the filing of complaints at the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office. Violation of Sections 5 and 11 under Article II of R.A. 9165 otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” will be filed against “Bontia”, while “Alferero” will face a complaint for violation of Section 11 under Article II of R.A. 9165.

“Sa ilalim ng ating adbokasiya na Bagong Pilipinas kung saan, ang gusto natin ay ligtas ang lahat, patuloy nating ipakita na walang puwang ang iligal na droga sa ating mga komunidad. Ang ating kapulisan ay walang tigil sa pagtutok sa pagsugpo sa mga banta ng droga sa National Capital Region,” RD NARTATEZ said.

The NCRPO continues to urge the public to remain vigilant and report to the authorities any suspicious activities in the communities to maintain a safer and drug-free region.
