A lawyer Police General was designated Director of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) following the filing of a leave of absence of its Director, Police Brig. Gen. Narciso Domingo today (April 13).
PNP Chief, Police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr. named Police Brig. Gen. Faro Antonio Olaguera as the new Director of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), following the call for leave of absence by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos during his press conference last April 9, 2023.
PBGen Olaguera, a lawyer, is a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1989 and is erstwhile Director of the PNP Legal Service.
In a press briefing on April 10, Sec Abalos asked to go on leave the 10 PNP officials who were seen in a video footage in front of a lending office in Manila apparently after the arrest of Police Master Sgt. Rodolfo Mayo, Jr.
PBGen Domingo and PCol. Julian Olonan were the first to comply with DILG Sec. Abalos’ order. Other PNP officers mentioned by SILG likewise filed their respective leave of absence.Â
