The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on Sunday renewed their appeal to the public to register their subscriber identification modules (SIM) cards and not wait last minute before the deadline.
According to DICT Undersecretary Anna Lamentillo, as of Good Friday, April 7, 2023, the number of SIM card registered is at 62,170,268.
This is still far from the 168,977,773 million total subscribers nationwide.
Smart Communications still has the highest number with 31,110,508; followed by Globe Telecoms with 26,348,304 and Dito Telecommunity with 4,711,456.
Lamentillo meanwhile renewed her call to the the public to remain vigilant against scammers offering assistance with SIM registration.
All SIM users have until April 26, 2023, to register their SIMs, as mandated by Republic Act No. 11934 or the Subscriber Identity Module Registration Act.
