Globe warns vs. job offer scams

Digital solutions provider Globe Telecom on Thursday cautioned the public against recruitment scams that are now proliferating in various social media platforms to which they even use altered official photos of the company and its employees to make it look like legit.

According to a statement from the company, even the telecom company is being used as the scammers have begun using a manipulated images to make it look like that Globe is offering jobs to freshmen that will give them a work-from-home arrangement.

Globe warned that it even showed an altered photo where a prize winner being handed his winnings.

However, upon close inspections, it showed that the image was manipulated to show that he received a job offer with a salary of P35,000.

They also reportedly use photos of Globe employees so as to mislead customers so that job seekers might think they are dealing with legitimate personnel.

“Always verify the authenticity of information you see on social media because scams abound online. Refrain from sharing personal or financial information until you have verified the legitimacy of any job offer you receive,” Globe Chief Privacy Officer Irish Salandanan-Almeida said

“Remember that your personal information may be used by fraudsters to access your online accounts, including your e-wallets or bank accounts,” she added.

Globe said that the public must exercise caution especially in dealing with online job postings and unsolicited offers sent via chat apps.
