Broadcaster and former vice president Noli De Castro and actor Robin Padilla will both seek a Senate seat in 2022.
Over his regular Teleradyo program, De Castro said he was eyeing a return to politics as a senator, and said he was saying goodbye to his radio program.
“Sorry to say na ito ho ang huling araw ko sa Teleradyo for so many years, at kami ho ay nagpapasalamat sa mga nakasama ko dito (Sorry to say that this is my last day in Teleradyo for so many years and I thank to those who was part of this),” De Castro said over Teleradyo
De Castro was vice president from 2004 to 2010 and topped the senatorial race in 2001 with more than 16 million votes.
He is now known as “Kabayan” but previously used the moniker “Mr. Clean.”
Meanwhile, actor Robin Padilla will run for a Senate seat in 2022 under the PDP-Laban faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.
Padilla joins House Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta, chief presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo, Information and Communications Technology Secretary Gringo Honasan, Transport Secretary Arthur Tugade, and Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar in PDP-Laban’s senatorial slate for 2022.
