If presidential elections were held today, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte will emerge victorious based on a recent Pulse Asia survey.

Former senator Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr. trailed Sara Duterte in the survey conducted from February 22 to March 3.

“If the May 2022 elections were held during the survey period, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte would be declared as the winner in the presidential race with a national voter preference of 27 percent,” Pulse Asia said.

The survey results showed Sara Duterte lead in Mindanao (60 percent), but got mixed results in the Visayas (21 percent), Luzon (17 percent), and in the National Capital Region or NCR (12 percent).

Trailing Sara Duterte was Marcos with a voting preference of 13 percent, while Senator Grace Poe and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso got 12 percent each, and Senator Emmanuel Pacquiao got 11 percent.

In NCR, Domagoso was the leading candidate with 24 percent while Marcos was second with 18 percent. The rest of Luzon favored Marcos (19 percent), Duterte (17 percent), Poe (15 percent), or Domagoso (13 percent).

In the Visayas, Sara Duterte lead with 12 percent and Pacquiao got 15 percent and Poe 14 percent.

The others who figured in the list were Vice President Leni Robredo (7 percent), Senator Christopher Go (5 percent), former vice president Jejomar Binay (3 percent), Senator Panfilo Lacson (2 percent), and Taguig City-Pateros 1st District Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano (2 percent).

The nationwide survey of Pulse Asia used face-to-face interviews involved a sample of 2,400 adult respondents.
