Worried that the on-going leadership row in the House might delay the passage of the 2021 national budget, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson welcomed the visit of his legislative colleague Speaker Allan Peter Cayetano this evening.

Cayetano visited Lacson at the latter’s senate office alongside ACT CIS Partylist Representative Eric Yap and Bulacan Congressman Alvarado, the chair of the House Blue Ribbon Committee.

Cayetano in that meeting, assured Lacson that the budget will not be delayed despite the so-called abrupt suspension of the House budget deliberations. To prove that he is not holding the budget hostage just to keep the speakership post, Cayetano decided to suspend all hearings even at the plenary level and resume House business by November 16.
