BREAKING! PH Covid-19 updates:  52,914 cases; 1,360 deaths; 13,230 recoveries


The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 1,233 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections, bringing the total to 52,914.

“As of 4PM today, July 10, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 52,914,” said the DOH COVID-19 Case Bulletin  #118.

There are also 38,324 active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.

In addition to the 848 fresh cases, 385 late cases were also reported.

Fresh cases are based on the daily accomplishment reports submitted by only 70 out of 79 current operational labs.

DOH likewise announced 286 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 13,230.

Meanwhile, 42 more fatalities brought the death toll to 1,360.

Of the 42 deaths, 27 (64%) occurred in July and 12 (29%) in June. Thirty-six (86%) of the deaths reported were from Cebu.

Seventy-three (73) duplicates were also removed from total case count.

Among the fresh cases, 408 are from the National Capital Region, 30 are from Region VII, and 413 are from other areas across the country.
