After placing huge swaths of Northeastern Samar under water, Typhoon Ambo caused huge flooding in Aurora despite being downgraded to just a tropical depression.

Reports from the Philippine weather bureau says torrential rains by Ambo caused severe flooding in most places in the capital city of Casiguran in the province of Aurora. With winds measuring only 15 kilometers per hour, most authorities had altogether considered Ambo as a non-threat. They weren’t expecting such a huge torrent of rain though.

Authorities say Ambo wrought more than 79 million pesos worth of damages especially in agricultural areas such as the island of Masbate and Camarines Sur.
