Even penitents were not spared from doing their belief.

Two persons practicing some penitence on the street were apprehended by authorities in Pasay City on Good Friday, and detained for five hours.

A report from Pasay City Police acting chief Police Colonel Ericson Dilag said that policemen were conducting Oplan Bandillo and strictly implementing the enhanced community quarantine along Arnaiz Avenue when they saw the two penitents.

Penitents also roamed the streets on Good Friday amid COVID-19.

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) earlier told the public that church activities, such as processions and Visita Iglesia, were banned this Holy Week due to the strict quarantine.

Police had urged the public to just pray and reflect inside their residences this Lenten Season.

Aside from the two men, nine others were also apprehended by the police.

The 11 individuals were brought to the covered court of the Villamor Airbase Elementary School in Barangay 183 for a film showing about coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Dilag said authorities would allow the individuals to go home after five hours./Stacy Ang
