Gabriela, Kadamay press for release, dismissal of “trumped-up charges” against 2 of their comrades

Militants belonging to Gabriela and Kadamay staged Wednesday (29 January 2020) a lightning protest-rally in front of the Manila City Hall along Taft Avenue over the alleged unlawful arrest of comrades Cora Agovida and Michael Bartolome by PNP and CIDG operatives in Manila.

Authorities arrested Agovida and Bartolome on illegal possession firearms and explosives charges it was gathered.

Their arrest was made at 5 in the morning last October 31, 2019 at their apartment where authorities recovered firearms and explosives.

Together with family members, the group demanded the immediate release of the accused and dismissal of what they call as trumped-up charges. (BENJAMIN CUARESMA/IAMIGO/CPH)
