Pagbibigay ng visa upon arrival tinigil na muna ng BI kontra NCoV

MANILA – Itinigil na muna ng Bureau of Immigration ang pagbibigay ng visa upon arrival sa mga dumarating na Chinese sa bansa sa gitna ng umiinit na usaping paglaganap ng nakahahawang 2019 Novel Corona Virus o NCoV.     

Ayon kay Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, layon ng naturang hakbang ay ang mapanatiling ligtas ang Pilipinas sa  2019 NCoV, mabawasan ang pagbiyahe ng mga dayuhan lalo na ang galing China at maiwasan  ang pagpasok  ng nasabing mapanganib na virus.

Ginawa ni Morente ang pahayag matapos ang pagtaas ng bilang ng mga hinihinalang kaso ng  2019 NCoV na ngayon ay 14 na.

Kaugnay nito, patuloy ang pagmomonitor ng Department of Health at mga LGU sa mga pasyenteng nasa iba’t ibang ospital sa ilang rehiyon sa bansa na may hinihinalang may sintomas ng NCoV.

Samantala sa kabila ng suspension sa pagbibigay ng visa sa mga dayuhang pumapasok sa bansa partikular na ang mga Chinese lulan ng Dream World Cruise ship na galing ng Hong Kong.

Tinatayang mahigit sa 800 na Chinese nationals na pawang mga turista ang dumaong Martes ng umaga sa Pier 15, South Harbor.

Napagalamang dumaan sa masusing Health Screenings ang mga sakay nito bago pinayagang makababa at mag-ikot sa Maynila bilang mga turista. (BENJAMIN CUARESMA/IAMIGO/CPH)
