Alert Level 4 now up; classes suspended for Monday

MANILA, Philippines – The National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council has raised Alert Level 3 to 4 on the latest eruption of Taal Volcano.

And as result of the heavy ashfall that was experienced in many parts in the provinces of Cavite, Batangas, Laguna and Metro Manila, classes in all levels for Monday, January 13, 2020 have already been suspended.

·  Talisay, Batangas

·  Balete, Batangas

·  Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas

·  Cuenca, Batangas

·  Alitagtag, Batangas

·  Sta. Teresita, Batangas

·  San Nicolas, Batangas

·  Agoncillo, Batangas

·  Laurel, Batangas

·  Manila

·  Muntinlupa

·  Parañaque

·  Pasay

·  Makati

·         Pasig

·         Quezon City

·         Las Pinas

“Due to the heavy ash fall being experienced in Cavite, it is best for everybody to stay indoors. The ash fall may result in respiratory disorders. Mga magulang, ingatan po natin ang ating mga anak. Classes in all levels are suspended tomorrow, January 13, 2020,” said Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla.

For his part, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno likewise declared no classes in all levels due to the reported ash fall in Metro Manila.

Flights for commercial airlines may also be suspended on Monday owing the heavy ashfall that rendered zero driving visibility to vehicles in some areas. (Stacy Ang/JGo/Currentph.com)
