Pinays oust Malaysia for second straight win in Beach Volleyball

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine team swept Malaysia on Monday, 02 December 2019, to score back-to-back wins in the beach volleyball tournament of the 30th Southeast Asian Games at the converted Subic Tennis Court.

The tandem of Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons swept the pair of Mae Tasha and Tan His, 21-13, 21-9, in the first match.

Meantime, Dzi Gervacio and Dij Rodriguez defeated the duo of Joo Shu Woon and Foo Sin Xi, 17-21, 21-13, 15-7, as the Filipinas dispatched Malaysia.

The Pinay beach volleybelles have now 2-1 win-loss card in the round robin preliminaries but will face a tough match on Tuesday against Thailand. (Lloyd Tagbago/IAMIGO/CNS)
