MANILA, Philippines – There is now a greater chance for all Filipino seamen to have work in foreign ships by 2020.

This was the assurance given by Global Maritime Manila (GMM) President-Captain Relly N. Jose Jr. through the media after showing them GMM’s brand new office located on the 3rd Floor, Casa Maritima building, 651 General Luna St. Intramuros, Manila.

Captain Jose said that they would have ships to handle by the year 2020 where an 18 to 20% increase in their current seaman requirement anticipated to be added to their ranks, with the exception of other foreign counterparts, with the intention of joining and signing a contract with GMM.

This is an “employment opportunity that will enable our countrymen to improve their family life and as well as the economy for our country.” Captain Jose added. (Gelica Paulo/IAMIGO/CNS)
