MANILA, Philippines — The New Clark City (NCC) stadium is now ready to host various international sporting events as it was completed in time for the country’s hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian Games set to begin 30th of this month.

MTD Philippines, the SEA Games lead developer, together with E-sports International, a Filipino sports architecture and wellness solutions firm, completed the New Clark City athletics stadium in time.

“So far, our athletes and coaches are very happy with the facilities. That’s the true testament of the quality of the product,” said MTD president Nikko David via Skype during a recent Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum at Hotel Amelie in Manila.

According to David, the Philippine athletics team has been training in the IAAF Class 1 stadium and living in the Athletes’ Village since August 31.

All the tools provided in the athletics and aquatics stadiums including gyms and several equipment were provided by Technogym, a brand preferred by major global sporting events including the Olympics.

David also donated 99 crates of SmarTracks for the warm-up area. SmartTracks will serve as a system that will document the training activities of the athletes.

The 30th SEA Games will officially open on November 30 at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan and will run until December 11. (Lloyd Tagbago/IAMIGO/CNS)
