MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Southeast Asian (SEA) Games squash top bet Jemyca Aribado snared the silver medal on Sunday, 17 November 2019, in the Singapore Squash Open.
Aribado, currently the country’s top-ranked squash player went down fighting to Malaysia’s Wen Li Lai, 11-6, 4-11, 11-13, 8-11 in the Women’s Open Finals to settle for the silver medal.
Aribado, meantime, won her semifinals duel over Wai Yhann Au Yeong of host Singapore, 11-9, 11-2, 8-11,12-10.
Her fellow compatriot Yvonne Alyssa Dalida finished 11th, while Reymark Begonia, Robert Garcia, and David Pelino, placed 3rd, 5th and 14th, respectively in the Men’s Open.
This is their final pre-SEAG tournament for the Pinoy squash players as they are now gearing up for the biennial conclave set December 1-9 at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City. (Lloyd Tagbago/IAMIGO/CNS)
