Coast Guard rescues passenger who jumped ship off Sangley Point

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Coast Guard has accordingly rescued on Thursday (14 November 2019) an unidentified man who jumped off a passenger ship off the coast of Sangley Point in Cavite.

PCG officials said they received the emergency call from the Cebu-bound passenger ship only hours after its departure from the North Harbor in Manila.

After receiving the emergency call, the PCG immediately dispatched a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation unit for the 44-year-old resident of Badian, Cebu City.

Aside from the PCG SAR, good Samaritans in fishing boats also responded in rescuing the unidentified passenger who was immediately brought to Barangay Ligtong-1, Rosario, Cavite for medical assistance.

The SAR team has accordingly made an effort contacting the family of the unnamed passenger who is undergoing profiling of this writing.
