PH beach volley team counting on home-court advantage, aims for SEAG gold

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Beach Volleyball team is counting on home-court advantage to boost its gold medal bid in the upcoming 30th Southeast Asian Games which the country is playing host from November 30 to December 11, 2019.

As the host country, the Philippines is allowed to field two squads each in the women’s and men’s events.

This year, the Women’s Beach Volleyball team is composed of the Petron tandem of Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons who recently represented the Philippines in the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Boracay Open.

The tandem of Dzi Gervacio and Floremel Rodriguez will also represent the Philippines for the regional meet.

For the men’s team, Edmar Bonono and Jude Garcia, and Anthony Arbasto and James Buytrago also hope to land on the podium.

The LVPI will stage the Rebisco International Beach Volleyball Competition on Nov. 15 to 17 at the Mall of Asia’s Sands by the Bay.
