MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Military Academy has on Saturday, November 10, honored freshman cadet Mario Telan Jr. who allegedly drowned at the campus swimming pool last Friday, 08 November 2019, in Baguio City.

Telan was believed to have drowned in the 15-feet deep campus swimming pool during his practical exam, according to Baguio City Police’s initial investigation.

PMA earlier discounted the possibility of foul play in the cadet’s death but admitted that it has to dig deeper on some infractions and irregularities in the manner the swimming exercise was conducted.

The academy gave Telan a military recognition and promised to assist Telan’s family.

Cadet’s family intends to bring home his remains to Enrile, Cagayan.

Telan’s death is the second incident in only two months following the death cadet Darwin Dormitorio on hazing. (Cate Pallarco/IAMIGO/CNS)pma cadet drowned
