MANILA, Philippines – Believe it or not.

A bevy of “baby cockroaches” along with the “mother” have found a “dwelling place” inside a Chinese man’s right ear which allegedly took advantage settling in while he was in deep slumber.

The man was identified as Mr. Lv, 24-year old who complained experiencing unbearable pain that roused him up from sleep.

He was rushed then to the Sanhe Hospital in Huiyang, China after family members noticed the antennae of mother cockroach from inside his ear, local paper Mirror reported last Wednesday, November 6.

The large insect was removed from Mr. Lv’s ear canal by an EENT (Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat) specialist who concluded it was the reason behind his pain complaint.

Zhong Yijin, EENT specialist, revealed that aside from the mother cockroach, he said that he saw and plucked out 10 more 10 cockroach babies inside the man’s ear.

“They were already running around,” Zhong said.

Dr. Yijin removed the baby insects, including the mother cockroach, from Mr. Lv’s ear, using a pair of tweezers.

Mr. Lv suffered minor injuries to his right ear canal after the procedure. He was prescribed with ointment for his ear.

Other visitors told the local media that the man have a habit of leaving unfinished food packets near his bed.

They advised that household hygiene, such as disinfecting drains and sewers, can help prevent the spread of cockroaches. (Cate Pallarco/IAMIGO/CNS)
