Is Sara Duterte’s Intel Funds Splurging Part of a Deal for 2028?

on

In that video, when Vice President Sara Duterte went “dark” and utterly ballistic because of what she perceived as the injustice done to her best friend, Zuleika, I noticed a portion where Sara alleged that someone assured her that her intelligence funds would be used as part of something, possibly a deal?

Is it true that the reason the group of Sara Duterte was so confident about spending those millions was that they were promised to her by no less than her former political allies?

A source even insinuated that it was part of a deal made by the presidential sister, now Senator Imee Marcos, to entice Sara Duterte to run second fiddle to her brother, now President Bongbong Marcos Junior. Another source says those funds were intended to support her 2028 presidential candidacy.

How true? We may never know except, of course, if Sara herself or Imee revealed this. Is this material? Well, yes. Will it help her extricate herself from this intel funds mess? Unfortunately, no.

That explains why Sara was given the education portfolio, because, unknown to all, the DepEd is said to be a corrupt-ridden agency of government, even more corrupt than other agencies that we traditionally consider to be really corrupted. Aside from school construction, billions are being lost by several contractors involved in bidding for supplies, books, etc. This was exposed several years ago.

Anyway, it’s expected that Sara did not raise this in her defense. These kinds of deals are made with the strictest confidentiality. It’s hard to prove because it will just turn into a “he said, she said” situation. So, it would be useless for Sara to blame the administration for her own behavior.

The lesson here is clear as day: don’t be foolish enough to believe everything a politician says to you, even if you’re so confident he won’t turn against you because you’re friends.

Or let me modify what I said—don’t get caught in a trap. Don’t do stupid things that your enemies would certainly throw at you the minute your ties are severed.

As former Speaker Jose de Venecia once told this writer—politics changes every day, every minute, every second. Always be on guard. Otherwise, be ready to pay the consequences.
And Sara is paying and spending a lot just for one stupid mistake. Duterte supporters see her as their hero, their savior. It turned out that Sara was not the savior but the very one who is causing the utter destruction of their elite clique.

As Sara admitted in an interview—the very minute she’s impeached, she’s a goner. And I think she would surely have her wish not in January, but even earlier. The other elite cliques in our society surely want her expunged from public life as soon as possible, so that the country could move decisively forward.
