Queenie Padilla Turns the Page, Embraces New Beginning After Finalizing Divorce

on

MANILA, Philippines— Former actress Queenie Padilla has officially closed one of the most challenging chapters of her life, announcing that her divorce from Pakistani ex-husband Usama Mir has been finalized—a milestone she describes not with bitterness, but with peace, faith, and gratitude.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Queenie revealed that she has reached a place where “my peace is absolute, and my path is clear,” signaling the end of a journey that began long before the legal dissolution of her marriage. She explained that she had emotionally moved on years ago and deliberately chose silence to protect the new life she had built for herself.

“My silence was never confusion or weakness,” Queenie wrote. “It was a conscious choice to protect the life I’ve built since closing that chapter.”

According to Queenie, the marriage had effectively ended two years ago, while the legal process was completed late last year and has now been publicly confirmed. She clarified that the dissolution was granted through “divorce by faskh,” an Islamic legal process initiated by the wife and approved under specific conditions, distinguishing it from the more commonly known “talaq” divorce initiated by the husband. Despite celebrating her newfound freedom, Queenie stressed that she is not advocating divorce.

“I am not promoting divorce or encouraging it,” she said, describing it instead as “the last resort” when a husband and wife are no longer capable of giving each other mawaddah (deep affection) and rahmah (compassion and mercy). She expressed hope that couples would continue striving to preserve their marriages whenever possible. (PEP.ph)

Rather than dwell on the past, Queenie said she has chosen to focus on her faith, personal growth, and the blessings that await her.

“I don’t revisit the past because I’m simply not there anymore,” she shared, asking supporters to pray not for what she has left behind but for the future she is building.

The announcement was met with an outpouring of encouragement from fans and fellow netizens, many praising her grace, resilience, and quiet strength throughout the difficult period. Her message resonated with many who admired her decision to remain private while navigating deeply personal challenges.

Queenie, the eldest daughter of Senator Robin Padilla and Liezl Sicangco, largely stepped away from show business years ago to focus on her family and her Islamic faith. She first announced her separation from Mir in 2024, citing irreconcilable incompatibility, but had largely refrained from discussing the details publicly until now. (ABS-CBN)

While the legal chapter has finally come to a close, Queenie made it clear that her story is no longer about loss.

It is about healing.

It is about faith.

And most of all, it is about embracing a future she now faces with confidence, serenity, and hope.
