PH Condemns China’s Rocket Launch
In a press release, National Security Adviser Eduardo Año, stressed that The Philippines strongly condemns China’s irresponsible actions regarding the Long March 12 Rocket Launch.
The launch caused alarm in the province of Palawan, in which residents reported hearing loud explosions that are connected to the said rocket launch.
Though there is no reported damage or injury, the falling debris still posed a significant risk towards ships, fishing boats, aircrafts, and other vessels that are near or will go through the drop zone. Debris from the rocket might also wash towards nearby coasts.
Aerial and surface assets are said to have been deployed to look for the parts that fell within the Philippine territory.
The public has been advised to contact authorities and give information about any debris sighting, and prohibits retrieving any materials due to toxic fuel residues.
