PBBM Assures Govt Respond to “Habagat”
Before going to the United States for an official State visit, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. Stated that he had “given instructions to all our agencies to prepare for the flooding caused by the heavy rains.”
Since Monday, July 21, heavy rains has been felt in Metro Manila and nearby provinces that caused floods. PBBM released a two-minute video on Monday night assuring the public that different Government agencies are ready to response.
The President said he has instructed the Office of the Civil Defense, departments of Transportation, Health, Science and Technology, Social Welfare and Development, Public Works and Highways, Energy, Interior and Local Government, and all other agencies to “work and coordinate to ensure the safety of our people.”
The President urges everyone to listen to the advisories from the Local Government and the National Government for safety.
The President had suspended classes and work in Government offices in Metro Manila, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Pangasinan, Tarlac and Occidental Mindoro on July 22.
PAG-ASA is monitoring three Low Pressure Areas, two of which are inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR, which could enhance the effects of Southwest Monsoon or Habagat that will bring more heavy rains in the coming days.
