Oplan Sita Leads to Arrest of Suspects for Posession of Fireams, Bladed Weapons

TWO men were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and bladed weapon during Oplan Sita that was conducted by personnel from San Isidro Sub-station, Makati City Police Station on August 6, 2024.

Past 03:00 AM, when police officers flagged down two male individuals riding a black/gray motorcycle without plate number at the corner of Dela Rosa St. and Amorsolo St., Barangay Pio Del Pilar, Makati City. The suspects, identified as Ernesto (alias), 21, a food delivery rider, and alias Art, 22, were apprehended during the operation.

Arresting officer requested for the driver’s license and motorcycle registration from alias Ernesto, but he failed to present any documents. They noticed a bulge at alias Ernesto’s waist, and found an improvised  firearm (sumpak) loaded with one 9mm live ammunition.

Mandatory search on the back rider, Art led to the discovery of a black butterfly knife, measuring approximately 8 inches long, tucked in his right back waist, hence their arrest.

Complaints for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and BP 6 (Illegal Possession of Bladed Weapon) will be filed against the suspects respectively.
