Former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who is running for president in 2022, is open to having Senator Christopher “Bong” Go as his running mate, adding Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte was an option.

If Go is not available as a running mate, Marcos said the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) that he chairs can field its own vice presidential bet for 2022.

Go is the official vice presidential bet of the PDP-Laban wing led by party president and Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi.

In a television interview, Marcos said he would let the PFP decide on who would be his running mate. When asked if Go was a potential running mate, Marcos said that is a possibility.

On Sara Duterte, Marcos said she is an option but noted that the Davao City mayor has decided to stay away from seeking a national post.

“This is an unusual campaign. Every single day, there are many developments. We will make party adjustments,” Marcos said.

Sara Duterte already filed her candidacy for another term as Davao City mayor although there is a clamor for her to run for president in 2022.

Today (October 8) is the last day of the filing of candidacies for the May 2022 polls at the Commission on Election offices and satellite sites.

Tacloban School Shooting: The Problem Isn’t Video Games–It’s the...

The Philippines has once again responded to a tragedy involving young people with a familiar reflex: panic first, think later. Following the shooting involving students in Tacloban, attention has quickly shifted toward online games, social media, and a proposed Senate inquiry. The implication is clear. Somewhere inside a computer screen lies the explanation for why young Filipinos would commit violence against one another. It is a comforting theory. It is also probably the wrong one.
