A magnitude 5.7 earthquake shook Calatagan in Batangas at around 11:08 p.m. on Friday that was also felt in Pasig and Quezon City in Metro Manila.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said that the earthquake had a depth of 113 kilometers with its location at 15 kilometers southwest of Calatagan.
Phivolcs also recorded the following intensities in the following areas:
Intensity IV – Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; and Intensity III – Pasig City; Quezon City; Obando, Bulacan.
The agency said the latest quake in Calatagan was an aftershock of an earlier quake that hit the same areas late last month, which was also felt in parts of Metro Manila.
“This is an aftershock of the July 24, 2021 M (Magnitude) 6.6 Calatagan, Batangas earthquake,” Phivolcs added.
