The Quezon City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) recorded on Tuesday a 91.3-percent recovery rate from the dreaded coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

This accounts for 77,231 individuals who have recovered from Covid-19 in the city.

The Quezon City government posted it its Facebook account that as of 8 a.m. on Tuesday, there are 6,370 active Covid-19 cases or equivalent to 7.5 percent.

The total number of Covid-19 cases is 84,611 since the pandemic started as validated by the CESU and the city’s district health offices.

“The CESU, health center staff, and barangay officials validates these data from the DOH to check if they are indeed residents of QC,”, the QC government post stated.

However, the number of cases in the city is still subject to change because of the community-based testing approach that the city government is doing.

Meanwhile, based on the QC Covid-19 update as of 8 a.m. Tuesday, Barangay Batasan Hills in District 2 recorded the most number of active Covid-19 cases at 227 with 3,018 total individuals who have recovered from the disease.

This was followed by Barangay Pasong Tamo in District 6 that registered 198 active Covid-19 cases and 2,448 recoveries, and Barangay Commonwealth in District 2 with 195 active cases and 2,445 recoveries.

Of the city’s six districts, District 2 registered the most number of cases with a total of 848 active Covid-19 cases, while 10,088 individuals have recovered from the disease out of a total of 11,128 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic started.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, meanwhile, continues to encourage her constituents to still follow the imposed minimum health and safety protocols such as the wearing of face masks, face shields, and the observance of safe physical distancing to mitigate the spread of Covid-19.
